David Capece, Founding Partner & CEO
David Capece is a brand strategist with an emphasis on digital, innovation, and entertainment. His experiences include leading brand development, multi-million dollar marketing campaigns, and redesigning consumer experience.
David is the Founding Partner and CEO of the agency Sparxoo, where he has led branding and strategy projects with JP Morgan Chase, The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, Habitat for Humanity, Comcast, and NBC. During his career, David has held the positions of Senior Brand Strategist at Interbrand and Senior Director of Marketing at ESPN.com. In addition to his branding and communications experience, David has corporate finance and development experience on Internet venture capital and technology investment banking transactions totaling over $800 million (private placements, IPOs and acquisitions). David has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Wharton Business School and a BA from Johns Hopkins University.
Katherine Parsons, Co-Founder, Director Strategy and Innovation
Katherine has helped some of the world’s most recognizable brands with new product concepting and innovation, employee value propositions and leadership training, and branding. Katherine’s clients include Apple, NBC, Pepsi, CSC, AT&T, KFC and Dr. Pepper Snapple.
Katherine’s experience includes in-depth ethnographic research, trend analysis, retail audits, idea generation, and copy writing. Most recently, Katherine was a Senior Consultant at Interbrand. Prior to that she worked at McKinsey & Company and Faith Popcorn’s BrainReserve. Katherine holds a BA from Wellesley College, with a double major in Spanish and History and a MSc from The London School of Economics in Organizational and Social Psychology.
Matthew van Rooyen, Associate Creative Director
Matthew van Rooyen is a result-driven marketing professional with a keen sensibility in marketing and advertising design. His experiences also include video production, photography and idea generation. Matthew has served as a director of marketing for a global non-profit; he also has served as production manager at a creative marketing firm. Matthew holds an AA from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and a BA in General Business from Valley University in San Bernardino.
Ethan Lyon, Senior Writer
Ethan is a creative writer whose talents stretch to brand development and even business strategy. Ethan has written Internet business plans, developed consumer product brand platforms, and has provided creative leadership to advertising campaigns. Ethan is an emerging expert in digital marketing, leading Google Search, Twitter, and Facebook initiatives. Previously, Ethan was a creative writing intern at the advertising firm, Partners and Napier. He also contributed to the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper college publication, The Loop as a News and Politics Editor. He holds a BA in Communications and Journalism from St. John Fisher College.
