Challenge:
Like many publishing leaders, Newsweek’s business was under pressure from a declining overall market that was exacerbated in print. In the face of deteriorating performance, Newsweek sought to restructure its operations and develop a new vision for future growth in an increasingly digitally driven world.
Sparxoo Solution:
Sparxoo worked directly with Newsweek’s executive leadership team inclusive of CEO, CFO, and Editor in Chief to develop and implement a restructuring plan that focused on digital expansion. We served as a catalyst to accelerate efforts to change the organization and its priorities. Newsweek was able to significantly improve bottom line performance within 6 months, increased digital skills on the team, implemented a strategy to focus on vertical opportunities, and has since merged with Daily Beast to become a member of the IAC family.
Client Feedback:
“Smart. Passionate. Engaging. David and the Sparxoo team brought unique strategic insight and new ideas. They were highly effective in building relationships and credibility. They became an integral part of the team. This resulted in the generation of several Newsweek’s initiatives that improved bottom line performance.“
