Synapse Summit 2020 takes place Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 11-12, at Amalie Arena in Tampa. As it happens, Amalie Arena is a stone’s throw across Garrison Channel from the Sparxoo office on Harbour Island.
But more than geography connects Sparxoo and Synapse. We’re an agency that has spent a decade embracing Florida’s collaborative energy and innovation – which is exactly what Synapse Summit is all about.
“The Synapse Summit 2020 is going to make a statement to the world that ‘Innovation Lives Here,’” said Lauren Prager, Synapse’s Vice President of Community Engagement. “We’re changing the trajectory of people’s lives by creating and connecting a community through innovation – it’s awesome and awe-inspiring.”
Synapse is a Florida-based non-profit 501(c)(3) that “connects entrepreneurs, investors and other stakeholders to accelerate success in Florida’s thriving economies.” The first Synapse Summit was held in 2018 at Amalie Arena, home of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning.
This year’s edition is expected to draw more than 6,000 attendees and will feature keynote addresses by:
- Sara Blakely, founder and CEO of SPANX
- Stephen Currall, president of the University of South Florida
- Jeff Hoffman, entrepreneur and formerly of Priceline and Ubid
- Brian Murphy, founder and CEO of Reliaquest
Other notable scheduled speakers include Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried; WWE personality and Tampa Bay area citizen ambassador Titus O’Neil; Tampa Bay Lightning owner and developer Jeffrey Vinik; Tampa Bay Sports Commission Executive Director Rob Higgins; and U.S. Undersecretary of Energy for Science Paul Dabbar.
This year, Sparxoo and Sparxoo Studios were proud to collaborate with Synapse to develop a video project that illustrates the collaborative energy and vitality of Synapse Summit. One of the Sparxoo-Synapse video collaborations is shown above.
“We have a distinct brand and voice that is collaborative and based on a platform of community and engagement,” said Synapse’s Lauren Prager. “The partnership with Sparxoo has enabled our brand to come to life through a compelling video project, and we’re very pleased with Zach Gresham and Sparxoo Studio’s professional approach, which has truly created a collaborative partnership. We’re proud of the production quality and look forward to sharing the final product at the Synapse Summit 2020!”
Gresham, who joined Sparxoo Studios as its president in 2019, will participate in a panel entitled, “Marketing in 2030,” on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Zach and his fellow panelists – Wendy Culpepper of Kobie Marketing, Alina Alvarez of TARGIT, and Loran Jarrett of the University of South Florida’s Muma School of Business – will discuss new marketing, branding and community building strategies built on interaction and collaboration.
Zach and Sparxoo President Rob Kane will be hanging out at the Sparxoo stand (229-5) throughout the two-day event. Stop by and say hello to the Sparxoo team.
On-site events at Amalie Arena begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and run until 5 p.m. Social events will take place around downtown Tampa, including a tour of the new USF Health Morsani College of Health on Water Street (reservations are limited), a tour of Embarc Collective’s 32,000-square-foot collaboration space on Whiting Street and an official wrap-up party at Sparkman Wharf.
“We are exceptionally proud of this year’s list of talented exhibitors and world-class keynote speakers who will be coming together for two days to showcase their talents and impact in transforming this community,” Synapse’s Lauren Prager said. “Florida has arrived.”
