Every now and then at Sparxoo, we get the chance to lift our heads from the work, take a look around, breathe the fresh Harbour Island air and appreciate the talent-rich region we call home and what we get to do for a living.
A few of us did just that this past week at the Tampa Bay chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s annual local Addys gala. And hey, what do you know?
We won (times four)! Two Gold Addys and Two Silver.
Not a bad haul, considering our competition includes some incredibly creative and talented people from agencies throughout the Tampa Bay region.
“We’re thrilled to have the great work our team did in the past year acknowledged with such prestigious awards,” said Sparxoo President Rob Kane, who attended the gala with members of our team. “It speaks to the talent and hard work our team brings to every project. We appreciate the honor, and I just have to thank AAF Tampa Bay for all they do for the community.”
What is an Addy?
An “Addy” is industry shorthand for the American Advertising Awards, which are distributed by the AAF in three tiers: local, district and national. The awards Sparxoo won last week were local.
Local gold awards automatically advance to one of 15 AAF district competitions. In this case, our gold winners will receive consideration in the 4th district of the AAF, which encompasses 21 local chapters (or clubs) in Florida, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The 4th district winners will be unveiled May 2 in Orlando. Gold district winners automatically advance to the national level, which will be awarded at the AAF’s annual convention in Palm Springs, Calif., on June 7.
Sparxoo’s four 2020 local Addy Awards gave us six local Addys, total, to go with our one district silver Addy from 2017. We also won two local Silver Addys for website design and development in 2017.
Sparxoo’s Winning Work
Sparxoo won Gold Addys in two categories: Sales & Marketing (Sales Promotion) and Online/Interactive (Websites). We also won two Silver Addys in Online/Interactive (Websites).
The Sales & Marketing Gold Addy went to our 2020 Digital Marketing Trends Guide, a 48-page magazine-style publication in which our staff compiled our vision for the immediate future of the digital marketing space (click the images below to see the winning work in full).
